Tims weekend

Starting on Friday 15th - Didn't venture out today, like most days - either sat in the garden in the sun or sat solving geocaching puzzles. Though my wife and I did pop down to the local pharmnacy to buy some dressing stuff - Viv had cut her hand on Thursday trimming the hedge and we had run out of suitable bandaging. At the chemist there was the now common sight of the 2 metre gap queue out into the car park. Viv queued up and I sat waiting in the car. Movement was quick and so on this occasion it wasn't long before Viv was back.

Stepson is off to a park in Tunbridge Wells to meet up with his girlfriend he hasn't seen for 2 months. Apparently she is very concientious of the social distancing rules - but whether they have a cuddle - h'm.
He is frustrated that so many other people do it anyway.

I received many new emails today advising me of new geocaches that have now been published (publication of new caches had been halted since March 23rd - this changed as of Wednesday.)
Over the years it was not unusual for us to pop out to find new ones - We like to get out to new caches to see if we are the First to find - it is not a recognised attribute to the main organisation but stats can be found for this feat, and we are currently 2nd in the list of top 'First to Finders' in the South East. However having chosen to stand fast at this time and not go out and look for caches - these new ones will be found first by others who feel the risk is OK
There has been and still is a lot of debate around whether geocaching, or more correctly the actively going out and seeking the geocaches, should be taking place - many feel the risk is not worth it currently, many are of two minds and there are several who don't care either way and have been out looking for caches everyday since the beginning of lockdown (despite this being against the government guidelines around essential travel and local exercising) - we havent found a cache since March 20th. However we have (as mentioned earlier) sat at home solving many puzzles which some types of geocaches proffer .
With no plans for us to go out and meet up with anyone - I suspect we will, as we have done over the last 8 weeks, sit at home and involve ourselves in a number of home based activities. :-)
Saturday - not a lot to do today - I worked on a long map based puzzle and during a break, watched our neighbours in amazement as they continued to breach covid guidelines as they have done over the last 2 months.
Sunday - A quiet day - we have quite a large garden so loads to do - including duck watch - we have a female sitting on eggs in a duckhouse on a pond at the bottom of the garden and we have been waiting a while to see the paddle of tiny feet, but as yet a no show.
I decided to take the step to re-enable some geocaches that I own - though I am choosing not to seek caches myself, I am aware that the current guidelines do allow people to seek tupperware in woods (as some describe it) - we own 42 caches. 19 of these are placed on National Trust property (with permission) around Sissinghurst Castle and though many of these are on public footpaths, 5 are not and so I have enabled all bar these 5 as the NT have not opened their grounds to the public.
